The Baltic Woodpecker illustrates a 24 hours exploration of the Meenikunno Raba Bog in Estonia, October 2015. It was mastered with a portable Yagi Antennatransformed into a wearable antenna receiver ‘The Baltic Woodpecker’. The structure of an ordinary local rooftop antenna was used in order to pick up electromagnetic waves from the High Frequency or ‘Short Wave’ band. Since this reception method is dependened on factors like time of the day, season, humidity and other physical properties of the atmosphere, the purpose of this walk was to fully explore the sonic possibilities with this specific receiver antenna. the routeof the bog was proceeded in a circular course, according to the Estonian Native Calendar in which all elements are recurring and time is perceived as a circle.
